[Brett Kollman] I also learned that Anthony Richardson is wired the exact same way (in relation to Brock Purdy). Yes, he’s outrageously talented – everyone knows that. But this guy has the work ethic, the brain, and the god-given instinct to be a league-breaker.

Had a fascinating dinner tonight with three men at the tip of the spear of biomechanics and QB development, @WillHewlett, @GormelyTM, and @denny_thompson.

Their client list is deep, and includes names like Brock Purdy, Anthony Richardson, and of course now Caleb Williams.

I learned so much about how quarterbacks – especially quarterbacks making the jump from college to the NFL – retool their mechanics to increase velocity and add more “clubs to the bag” when it comes to types of throws.

I also learned that Brock Purdy’s work ethic is insane.

All of the grinding that he had to do to strip down his mechanics to the studs and then build them back up in a single offseason to get ready for his first training camp as a 7th round pick…the guy’s drive is just at a whole different level.

We haven’t even seen his best yet.

Do not get it twisted, he’s going to be a monster.

I also want to mention Austin Reed – a QB prospect in this class out of WKU who admittedly I haven’t finished my work on yet.

When he got to this group at the start of their training together, he was clocking 53mph on his throws. Now he’s at 61mph.

    Mechanics matter, folks.

    And then of course…there’s Caleb.

I’ve now talked to his teammates. I’ve talked to his coaches. And I’ve talked to folks who are helping him prepare for his rookie season.

Every single one of those conversations has only strengthened my belief in him. He’s one of one. Period.

I still have a lot to learn about how QBs develop…and of course I’ll never get it 100% right. But I do know this:

Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard.

But if that talent does work hard…you’re all fucked.
