  1. I know a lot of the fanbase loves to trust him. But personally, I think he trades this pick.. Seems like trading down is kind of his MO.. He traded out of a potentially great player in Will Anderson Junior, who went on to be defensive rookie of the year, at a major position of need. For a good guard and a shitty pick.

Why wouldn’t he do the same with MHJ?

Personally I’m against this mentality, and don’t trust him after the Will Anderson Jr trade. Because I believe this philosophy, leads to cycle of trading great for good. Keeps you in the middle of the pack.

  2. I thought they quoted him on the radio saying there is a neon sign above his head that says “open for business”. Something like that. After what he did last year, I definitely can’t wait to see what he does this year.

  3. It would be a Keim level dereliction of his job if Monti didn’t at least listen.

Got to feel like that Vikings offer is still pretty light if they want 4. The Vikes better throw in at least ~~three~~ four 1st rounders if they want 4, since that’ll take the Cards out of the top 10.

  4. I mean if you can get great picks (and maybe player(s)) from it then by all means

  5. In other news… water… its wet…

jesus christ.. of course he is open to hearing offers for the number four pick.. if you can pick up 4 draft picks for it.. than so be it…

  6. I think they need to take MHJ for the potential star power he brings… BUT I have no issue if they trade down for more day 1 picks.

I’m old enough to remember Andrew Luck and how he was the “can’t miss, generational” player of his decade. And he mostly proved he was, when he was healthy. However, 7 years later and he was out of the league due to the nagging injuries he faced throughout his career.

That’s why in my opinion, even three good players can provide a huge sustained impact to the team even if they pass on a bona fide superstar.

  7. There is a price for everything. Only a fool wouldn’t even *listen* to an offer.

  8. I just saw a report yesterday saying all 4 teams in the top 4 were unwilling to move off their picks.

    Smokescreen Season!

  9. He needs to listen but he should not make a trade before we are on the clock.
