Wth kind of argumentation is this? 🙄

  1. I am legit getting brain cancer from listening to this guy. Doesnt matter what kind of topic he is talking about.

  2. Totally agree with him. It’s just wierdo laker fans tryna police what people do with their possessions 🤣

  3. What’s wrong with what he said? I thought they got greedy when Kobe wasn’t splurging on them and started selling his stuff way back. Don’t think they were on best terms with Kobe, why keep rings that you don’t want or don’t have any use for. Get some money for them.

  4. The question should be why are they broke to begin with?

And Shay really fumbled on who to bring to talk basketball with on Nightcap.

  5. wasn’t Kobe father a pro basketball player

How has that guy not made connections and have a lot of money?

Just an assumption but if your own kid doesnt like you and you’re semi-broke after playing pro ball there has to be something very wrong with your personality

  6. In his defense listen to his whole point about the situation it makes sense not the click bait stuff

  7. It’s weird that they don’t have any money and resorting to selling their sons championship rings to make ends meet, especially given the fact the Kobe’s dad was a former player himself.

  8. I’m sure they had some money. Kobe may be cold blooded but I highly doubt he wouldn’t leave anything for the parents who raised him.

  9. Why the fuck would anyone care what Arenas says about literally anything? His entire shtick is saying dumb and outrageous shit to get attention. Just ignore him and he will go away

  10. Op is a dumb laker fan who only thinks with his heart. His take was completely reasonable, just cause Kobe didn’t give you anything stop hating

  11. To me it seems like the Mom was the bad one. Kobe gave his Dad the ring in 2000 after the first title. His Mother seemed like the bad seed. I think Kobe was on speaking terms with his sisters but not his Mom and Dad

  12. I don’t understand why Vanessa can’t shoot them a mil. It’s not like she’s NOT one of the richest women in the world. Another commenter mentioned they had a bad relationship but at the end of the day, those are the people that birthed your late husband. Or am I thinking too old fashioned?

  13. His parents don’t know how to handle money, they always use to ask for more and more when Kobe was alive. They were really shitty to him too. They treated Vanessa like crap too from what I’ve heard years ago. Imagine your parents not like your wife and then not speaking to you cause you married her and then come around asking for money. He still took care of them but it was never good enough. Imagine how Vanessa feels

  14. Seems like a logical argument lol. If it came down to struggling financially and possibly losing aspect of your lifestyle why the fuck would you not sell the most valuable thing you have?

  15. What’s the issue lol pretty sure he didn’t leave a penny behind for them. What do you expect them to do when they’re broke?

  16. I can’t judge them for selling something that wasn’t stolen and I can’t judge them for not approving Kobe’s marriage, the same way I’m not judging Vanessa for not supporting “those fucking racists”.

People are free to make their choices, but they have to deal with the consequences.

  17. Certain they’re not trying to eat more so maintain a standard of accustomed living. Fools take.

  18. Gilbert doesn’t know what a ring is worth sentimentally, never got one, not even close

  19. I’m so confused is OP actually saying that people should starve before selling those rings!? What the actual fuck???

  20. Gil is right, but it’s a sad and common situation. Some parents are incapable of showing love and support to their kids spouse. They dig their heels in and end up losing so much because of it.

  21. I mean them selling the rings gets them into better hands. Whoever will buy it will likely take good care of it and is a Kobe fan. I don’t see a problem here. It’s not like they’re melting the ring for gold or doing anything that’ll destroy it

  22. He’s not wrong at all. People have to prioritize basic living essential over memorabilia, but man, what a bag fumble by his parents.

All they had to do was treat Kobe and Vanessa half decent, and they’d probably have more money than they’d know what to do with.

  23. “Tryna eat”? Really? I mean, really?

To anyone saying “is he wrong?”, he is. Kobe’s father was a pro player. They should be fine, unless they fucked it up.

Personally, I would never sell my kid’s ring… even if I were starving.
