David Locke goes OFF on today’s LOJ podcast, and I’m here for it.

  1. David Locke is a non-stop homer and I love every bit of it.

    Edit:

“Blasting and criticizing the Jazz rebuild right now is so shortsighted, it’s stopping a movie 20 minutes in and criticizing it. Then you don’t get the ending of Little Miss Sunshine.”

“It’s like doing the Appalachian trail, and stopping a day and a half in and deciding you don’t like it.”

Rant on Locke. I love it.

  2. Just finished listening and I agree with his take on the people who are fed up with the rebuild. Those that are complaining about the state of the team are a combination of entitled, delusional, and ignorant of how the NBA works.

It takes time and a bit of luck to pull off a rebuild, but the Jazz are following the Thunder model. They’ve got Lauri and Sexton who are capable of contributing to a championship-caliber team. Kessler and Keyonte have amazing potential. Hendricks has shown flashes in very limited games. The G-league crew is developing players well—Potter and Juzang have come in ready to play. There are so many reasons to be excited about this team’s future.

  3. For someone who talks for a living, he can be remarkably incoherent at time. Skip to at least 3min30s to start hearing anything comprehensible.

  4. Blah. David Locke is such an entitled and spoiled little brat himself. All credit to him for creating and making the Locked On-thing huge, but when he does takes likes these, it is just silly. He blames “the fans” a lot, but never the FO. Some fans are ok with and some root for an aggressive rebuild. Some just want a decent team. Both are fine, but Locke only credit the ones who align with what the FO want.

  5. Fans can be upset if they want to. I’m not generally a vocal outspoken hater or anything but god fucking damn it this team is hard to enjoy watching. Front office may be making the right moves but the product on the court is ass and I hate it.

  6. Self proclaimed smartest man in the room. I hope Locke reads this sub. I wouldn’t be surprised if he has several burner accounts

  7. I love how this fanbase is totally convinced Danny will get this team a championship. The scenarios that got them a ring and then later Tatum and Brown is not the same as what’s playing out in Utah. The odds the Jazz get two #3 picks from MN and/or Cleveland are low. Boston got KG and Ray to pair with Pierce to get a title. Danny then trades these guys when they were over 36 to a team with a new owner and to a poorly run organization which netted Boston high picks.

I hope some of these future picks are top 3 but right now Cleveland and MN have young superstars so it’s a totally different situation and we have to hope one or both teams fall apart in the coming years. All of this could end with getting exactly zero top 7 picks and no players that can hold a candle to Tatum or Brown.
