In reference to us bringing in Jarrian Jones for a visit: Jones moved into the slot in 2023 and was dominant in coverage. Elite @PFF grade in man coverage. Allowed 0 TDs, had 3 INTs across 32 targets

  1. I’ve liked the idea of Jones to us in the 3rd for a long time. Seems like great value and fills a position of need.

  2. Could be a hidden gem, great stats all around and fast but rated low/bad tackling. As of now I’d say everyone has some confidence in our D coaching staff vs last, so bad tackling can go away with good coaching

  3. That sounds promising! He has elite speed and jumping. He could probably stand to put on a few pounds, but his arm length is 8th percentile for CBs. He can make up for that in the air with his jumping and ball skills, but it’s definitely going to make it more difficult for him to wrap up on tackles.

  4. big time in on this. there really aren’t any 1st round guys who project or have experience as primarily slot guys. another boundary guy would be sick but it’s a kind of a luxury pick. could McKinstry or Mitchell or Wiggins be molded into a slot guy? is DeJean actually a slot guy? it’s hard to say. Jones is a slot guy. could be worth overdrafting if Gute thinks he’s the fit.
