[Katz]Knicks’ Mitchell Robinson on his ankle injury: ‘I wanted to throw s—‘

  1. He is practicing so I assume at some point within a week he will be “cleared”. The sooner he gets back the quicker he can get his conditioning up.

  2. article mentions how Mitch will at least at first likely be coming off the bench, and how OG has been playing some time with the bench unit as well, and now I’m just thinking about some random ass 7th man on another team who has to try to score when OG Anunoby and Mitchell Robinson are on the court. Not to mention Deuce McBride.

  3. >“When a guy comes back off an extended injury or time where he’s been out, I think it takes a little bit of time to get that timing back,” Thibodeau said. “It probably makes more sense with shorter minutes to (bring him off the bench). We’ll see how it unfolds.”

    >If so, Isaiah Hartenstein, formerly Robinson’s backup, would remain the starter, which Robinson said he had no problem with.

    >“Ay man, whatever helps the team,” he said. “I’m down for whatever.”

    >What surely helps is the relationship Robinson and Hartenstein already have. Robinson said that his co-center has “been playing great” and that “it’s been amazing just watching him play.” Hartenstein has meshed well with the first unit since joining it, protecting the rim, grabbing offensive rebounds and adding a passing element that was not present before him.

    >Robinson has rooted for him through it. He texts Hartenstein after every game. They often speak on the phone during Hartenstein’s car rides home from Madison Square Garden.

Mitch is one selfless dude. All about team, even when he has a valid claim at the starting spot. All those fools who wanted to trade Mitch to protect iHart’s spot long-term can finally chill tf out. The big bad man won’t hurt you anymore lol

    >He sounded particularly excited to run alongside Anunoby, a fellow long, athletic defensive stalwart.

    >“He’s active. He’s not afraid to take a chance,” Robinson said. “He might miss one (steal) here or there, but that’s alright. He’ll get most of them.”

    The Mitch-OG Prophecy 😭
