  1. i doubt it’ll be very long. dude can mash in his sleep, and you’d assume he’s been prepping this whole time anyway. in his first minors game he’ll probably hit 4 dingers and he’ll be up the next day honestly lol

  2. Sherman followed up to say it would be expected to be up to 10 days. So basically he would miss roughly the first week of the season.

I still think Vientos should start in AAA. I would hate to lose someone without options like Zack Short just for 5 games of Vientos.

I think the best move is Marte at DH and Taylor in RF those games. Id expect Taylor to be better than Vientos offensively – he has the game game power but with better contact rates – and I would also expect Taylor to be better than Marte defensively.

  3. It’ll be interesting to see that if within that 1 month or whatever the time frame may be, how Vientos and Baty are performing. It would be severe negligence to demote one of them if they’re doing well.

I’d like to see Vientos get more time at 3rd and Baty time in the outfield. I think not getting him reps out there in spring was a mistake. I mean, can he really be worse than Marte at defense at this point?
