LET ME EXPLAIN:

The 🌈NUMBER OF DESTINY🌈 is derived by taking the forecasted safe playoff cutoff point, and figuring out how many games we have to win to beat it. Right now, we need to win 🌈NOTHING MORE🌈 to be able to fully relax in the most promising post season of all time. Haha get WRECKED Pacific Division.

NON-CREATIVE WRITING ASSIGNMENT (SELF INDULGENT):

I am never been more completely happy and at peace (hockeywise, I have a life outside of this sometimes).

The 💀DOOM NUMBER💀 posts of old came about because I was tired of people arguing every December/January with missives about how a terri-bad season was just inches from turning around. The "lol u doubters, were only 8 points back!" at Game 41 was a commendable position to take but also required a small dash of reality

I don't believe in being "positive" or "negative" as a starting point, I believe in COLD, HARD DATA and then reckoning your world view once you have it. Nothing is colder than the 💀SKULL EMOJI💀 and basic mathematics in a 💀GOOGLE SHEET THAT IS STILL TITLED "REDDIT PREDICTIONS 20-21" BUT IT IS 2024💀. If you look at data and still wanna be a positive person, fucking sweet! If losing makes you sad, then why not have a little fun with it?. Maybe make a weekly post where you talk about your fake invisible dog or rewrite the Voight-Kampff scene from Bladerunner from the perspective of /u/kneejerk_nuck . We were together through four total weeks of the Matthew Highmore Era and I wouldn't trade any of it.

When the team started doing good this year out the gate, I was so happy we could spin this as a positive. It's been really fun to go from GOTH HOCKEY PIT OF DISPAIR to OH WOW SOMETIMES THE BOUNCES GO OUR WAY.

Anyways thanks for following and commenting, I love doing these and I'm happy to have our first official HAPPY ENDING (at least together and not in the back room of the NHL Mascot Showdown at All-Star Weekend).
