  1. I’m picturing that mimbo episode of Seinfeld.

    “Step off Ippei.”

    “Oh Shohei, Shohei don’t.”

  2. No matter what the truth is, this is sad man.

Imagine having to cut ties with your best friend

  3. Ohtani deleting every post one by one with misty eyes as Taylor Swift plays in the background.

  4. I’m feel really bad for Freddie Freeman in times like these, you know he’s not mad but he is disappointed.

  5. The man is guilty as sin, but MLB will make sure it’s forgotten by the All Star break. Worst commissioner in sports.

  6. I didn’t think any British media would interested enough in the story to report on it. Not sure what says tbh.

  7. Tomorrows headline: “Ohtani dyes hair blue and platinum white with a Dodgers symbol on the back of his head, shares inspiring quotes on Insta story, moving on from Ippei?”

  8. If the worst thing that happens to Ippe is he gets unfollowed on Instagram, he’ll be a very lucky degenerate gambler.

  9. Somethin’ ain’t right.

Regarsl3ss of whatever the real story is (I’m assuming it’s the first one), I’m not buying for a split second the bullshit that Ohtani just found out this week.

There’s literally ZERO chance the Feds are behind ESPN in this investigation (time wise). And the Feds found Ohtanis name, not Ippeis.

No way Ohtani didn’t know he was being investigated, when Ippei, ESPN, the Dodgers etc somehow did.

Everything we’ve seen since the original interview is all window dressing to try and control perception at this point.

  10. Does he have any pics left on his Instagram? Ive never not seen these two together.

  11. He had to fire his best friend that was doing what was asked of him. It’s like the guy in the entourage thats designated to get caught with the weed and you gotta cut them loose. This case may be facing federal charges.

  12. I used to hear “baseball doesn’t know how to market its stars” a lot.
Well, now that we have one on the front pages again the way Griffey was back in the day, I hate it. Every aspect of their personal lives, every move they make is discussed like it’s frontpage news. It’s reality TV, not sports, and it’s gross.
The gambling story is a story worthy of coverage, but dammit if writers aren’t grasping at every little aspect of the story just to get clicks. Deleting photos on instagram should not be a story. it could be part of a larger article’s story, but not a story.
    Old man rant over.

  13. All this for 5 million dollars from a man who will soon have over a billion? Sounds like he’s a fall guy

  14. Here’s the cover up with the complicit L.A. media powerhouses to work PR. All to benefit the violent rape apologist Los Angeles sports fans who gave Bauer and Kobe a pass.

    🤮

  15. It’s worth considering how different the context is for the uber famous with this kind of stuff. We don’t know the personal details of the situation, but clearing his public posts with Ippei would save a lot of directed comments and attacks towards the situation and Ippei. It’s not like the average person’s social media.

  16. Am I the only one who doesn’t purge their profile of my past acquaintances after we have a falling out?

  17. He’s doing a good job listening to his lawyers. He should continue to do so if he knows what’s good for him.
