Tonight is the second time in modern NBA history that a team will start five rookies

The Blazers are starting Scoot Henderson, Rayan Rupert, Kris Murray, Toumani Camara, and Duop Reath today, as Simons, Grant, Brogdon, Sharpe, Ayton, Thybulle, and Justin Minaya are all out today. This is only the second time since 1971 (when the stat began being tracked) that five rookies started an NBA game. The only other time this happened was the last game of the 2012 season, when the Warriors started Klay Thompson, Charles Jenkins, Chris Wright, Jeremy Tyler, and Mickell Gladness.

  1. Good ol Mikell Gladness

Hopefully more than 1 of our 5 is a name that’s even remotely recognizable

  2. are they also giving refunds to this long and increasingly unnecessarily suffering fanbase?

  3. The last time a team started an All-Rookie lineup, they would go on to win the NBA championship 3 years later. Seems like destiny to me

  4. The fact that Simons, Grant, Brogdon, Sharpe, Ayton, Thybulle, and Minaya are out is a total and complete failure by the coaching staff. A team that needs to rest guys this often or gets injuries this often has something seriously wrong with it.
