[Gelb] The Phillies will carry both Johan Rojas and Cristian Pache on the Opening Day roster. Kody Clemens was optioned. More to come on the decisions.
Objectively the correct decision. Frankly if you need a backup 1B that is not Bohm once a week that bad Realmuto could do it
Dave must be cooking up a trade then. 40 man spot is open because of the Cave trade
Or a major signing like a proven pitcher
A little surprised here just because I thought it made more sense for Clemens to take the Cave role (lefty who can play 1B/OF) instead of keeping both Pache and Rojas who are really the same type of player to me. Interested to see how they manage that to start the season.
It’s not that I think Clemens is good, we have large enough sample to know that’s not true. I just thought they would want more lineup options with Harper already having back issues and Bohm being the only other player with significant first base experience. Wouldn’t be surprised if there is a move coming to fill that role as there’s an open 40 spot after the Cave trade.

Pache should be your go to in CF based on ST. Let Rojas win back the position if he proves he can hit. And if they both suck then move Marsh to CF and put Whit in LF.
