  1. Didn’t put in the title because of title gore, rest of the tweet:

    The organization still owes Straw:

    2024 – $4.9MM

    2025 – $6.4MM

    2026 – $7.4MM

    2027 – $8.0MM or $1.75MM buyout

  2. We all knew that was about to happen. Straw could learn in AAA though hopefully but no team wanted this contract obviously.

  3. You hear about guys betting on themselves well Myles straw faded himself and he beat the house in doing so

  4. He’ll be down until June and when he’s called back up he’s gonna absolutely mash for 40 homeruns

  5. Somebody gets hurt they can bring that noodle bat back up as a 4th/bench player. Just as long as this guy never gets 500 at bats a year again in Cleveland.

  6. Awful lot of negativity here but I’ll try and add some positive light.

This could be a blessing in disguise for Straw. He’s a gold glove caliber CF with great speed. If he can figure out how to adjust his approach and pitch selection he could definitely be a serviceable major leaguer. It’s not like he’s a 33 year old past his prime. He could reasonably tap into his potential and still be the player that we envisioned when we extended him.

It’s not necessarily incredibly likely but all I’m hearing is he’s washed and it’s a horrible contract. The guy still has time to correct his issues and AAA pitching a long with less pressure might help him with his confidence at the dish as well.
