Is terry porter in the top 5 blazers of all time list?

Do you think terry porter (2x nba all star) is in the top 5 all time blazers list

  1. Lillard
    Drexler
    Walton

    That’s tier one.

    Aldridge
    Wallace
    Porter
    Lucas
    Roy
    Sabonis
    Robinson
    Kersey

My tier two, hard to separate some of them.

  2. Not a chance. Walton, Drexler, Dame, Roy, Sheed, Aldridge, and Lucas are all better. Arguably McCollum, Strickland, and Uncle Cliffy. Maybe more. Is he top ten should be the question.

  3. He’s my personal favorite Blazer of all time but he’s not in the top 5. Top 15 probably if we’re filling out first, second and third teams. I might even put him at PG in the second team.

  4. I think you go Dame, Walton, Drexler in no particular order with Sheed, Roy, and Lucas at tier 2 and Porter, Aldridge, Sabonis, Cliff to round out the top 10. Porter is in that 6-8 spot.

  5. One thing to consider is that Porter went to two NBA finals—something that a lot of the players that might have had better stat lines can’t claim. How far that goes in considering his status as a great is debatable, but I think it should be considered. He also played 84 playoff games as a Blazer— 23 more than Lillard. I think the only player who has more playoff games as a Blazer is Clyde Drexler.

  6. Is this about individual stats? Most influential culturally? Rings? Here’s my top 10 Blazers of all time:

**Damian Lillard -** Holds the most team records, spent an entire decade here in Portland, carried us to the playoffs even on years where we had no business being there. His community involvement and service has also been nonpareil. Also, Dame is the most recent of Blazer greats, and among younger fans is considered the Blazers GOAT, and arguably so. At 33, he is now poised to win his first ring with the Bucks either this year or the next, and is in his prime. His legend remains unfinished, and we are all witnesses.

**Clyde Drexler -** Holds all the other team records, spent 12 seasons in Portland, and led us to the dance twice against the Pistons and Bulls, holding up his own even against Jordan. Eventually won a ring in Houston, a ring they could not have won without him even being in the final stage of his HOF career.

**Bill Walton -** Only the very best tye-died t-shirts, and won us our only ring thus far nearly fifty years ago. The truest proof of his greatness was the 1977-1978 season when the Blazers were 50-10. He suffered a career-devastating injury, after which we only won 8 out of our remaining 22 games.

**Terry Porter -** The perennial Robin to Clyde Drexler’s Batman. Like Dame, he also played an entire decade with Portland alongside Clyde the Glide. Perhaps a more appropriate analogy would be to say he was the Scottie Pippen to Clyde’s Jordan. They could not have individually succeeded as much as they would have being together. He and Clyde were the Curry/Klay before they were a thing. They were arguably a better duo than even Thomas/Dumars.

**LaMarcus Aldridge -** He played a decade here in Portland, much of that with Dame, and was one of our most important forwards along with Lucas, Williams, Sheed, Uncle Cliffy, and Gerald Wallace. An incredible talent not unlike Tim Duncan, but without as much fire and leadership instincts. Hell, I used to call him LaMarsha during a few drunken bouts watching games many years ago. But as far as talent and impact, his influence was felt.

***Other greats:*** Brandon Roy, Maurice Lucas, Jerome Kersey, Sidney Wicks, and Geoff Petrie.
