  1. I love him so much. His brain and heart are so pure I can’t wait for this to be over.

  2. Ohtani saying he’s actively cooperating and helping in all investigations is reassuring.

Considering Ippei was able to con his way to the MLB by lying about going to riverside and working for the Red Sox, I don’t doubt he could’ve conned his way into making the dodgers and Ohtani’s team believe that Ohtani knew about the initial 90 minute interview.

  3. Ippei has lost his reputation. He has been caught in lies. His credibility is gone. Ohtani is innocent, and he sounded very confident in his innocence.

  4. It’s laughable that people thought Ohtani would even gamble on sports. His angels teammates confirmed that he never even paid attention to other sports. Sadly, because of Ippei’s great betrayal some people are going to believe the conspiracy theory no matter what Ohtani says. I can’t believe Ippei threw away a great job, friendship and life all because of gambling!

  5. anyone who says they’d notice immediately if 4.5 million was missing, remember that it was $500 grand at a time, which is probably quite easy to overlook for super rich guys like shohei

was shohei naive? possibly. but then you also never imagine a trusted friend would shiv you…until they shiv you

  6. Honor is a big thing to the Japanese as it should be. Sucks to see these wankers on Twitter trolling him because he didn’t sign with their time. Time to move to Dodgers baseball baby.

  7. Ippei told ohtani and his representatives that he on behalf of a friend paid off his debt. Upon further questioning, it was revealed that it was in fact actually ippei who was in debt. But of course baseball media wont quote this because it doesnt fit their ohtani is a gambler narrative

  8. r/baseball are gonna say the federal government is going cover up for ohtani #ohtani_for_president2024

  9. The sad part is Ippei trying to throw Ohtani under the bus….it’s just so heartbreaking. You get paid $300k a year to just….talk. You get to travel to amazing cities, and in some cases, countries. You had the best job in the world.

  10. I don’t see a dude who deferred as much money as he did on a what $1.2 million salary racking up 4.5 million in gambling debts. Ippei for sure name dropped Ohtani and the bookie knew who he was to get it that high .

  11. I’ve never been happier to have been right. I’m appalled how anyone in their right mind would assume that a guy who left hundreds of millions on the table to come to MLB two years early, deferred 97% of his 700m contract and has donated enormous sums to charitable causes would risk it all for a quick thrill.

Fuck anyone who said he was worse than Pete Rose…brain-dead scum.

  12. Ippei: “It was me. I did all the gambling.”

Shohei’s teammates: “Shohei doesn’t gamble. He doesn’t like gambling. He might not even like other sports.”

Bookie: “I’ve never taken bets from him.”

Bookie’s lawyer: “My client has never met nor taken bets from Shohei Ohtani.”

Idiots on r/baseball and the rest of social media: “He’s worse than Pete Rose. Ban him for life.”
