It is beyond weird that he said originally that his friend has a gambling problem and he paid off the debt and now he’s saying he didn’t know anything about it and is just as surprised as anyone. I believed the first statement. His second one reeks of image management, or what regular folks would call lying.Â
I’m a huge shohei fan and I have stated this multiple times in other sub reddits. He is my favorite ball player as I am asian decent and he represents to me much more than just the game of baseball.
That being said I think he is lying to a certain extent or even the whole thing.
Transferring money, especially with to a new account requires verifications and authentication. I mean ippei can totally do this if he had like full control of his finances. But I doubt anyone in 2023 gives one person that much control over his finances.
