  2. Really fast guy that’s like 6ft 200#. Probably either a camp body or possible ST’er.

  5. Watkins is all about speed. Here’s what Nick Sirianni said about him at one point.

    *”Understand this with Quez. His speed changes the game, and not just because it’s going to him,” coach Nick Sirianni said of the free-agent receiver. “It’s going to open up the rest of the field, and you can’t always predict where the ball is going to go. The defense obviously – there are things that happen where the defense dictates where the ball is going to go.”*

  8. I remember him, he’s a pretty good rotational player. I will say I’m a little concerned about this signing. Van Jefferson isn’t someone who would play as WR4, more talented than that. Quez Watkins if we get a WR in the draft would be WR5? Jefferson and Austin would be competing for WR3? Idk but this might be our WR room for the season, could be wrong but just putting out thoughts

  11. Between him and Van Jefferson, we’ve got the WR4 and WR5 spots locked up. Also interested to see what this means for Calvin Austin, as they’re both burners that haven’t shown much else yet.

  12. This sounds like the last move at WR until maybe after the draft.

    I would be shocked if they don’t take a Day 1 or Day 2 WR to be the #2 WR on the team at this point.

  16. Quez, Jefferson, and Austin will probably be battling it out for that #3 WR spot. Not that prominent of a role in Smiths offense, so I feel like they are okay adding these lower level guys to fill that need by committee. Of course we need someone a bit better to be the WR#2 although I think Pickens, Muth, and the backs will be the main pass catchers either way

  18. Miami really wanted him as their #3 & other teams tried for him as well. Glad he choose us over the others. With him & Calvin they’re gonna take the tops off defenses. Whoever our next WR is they have to be an excellent route runner.

  21. Nice. He’s a really solid 4th guy. Adding him to Pickens and Van Jefferson means all they need is a 2 and a 3 now 🤣

  24. I hope the plan isn’t to try to wish one of these WR4s into a WR2. These better just be depth signings.

  25. Excellent news, very underrated receiver. He did not get as many targets in Philly because they were loaded with AJ Brown, Devonta Smith, Dallas Giedert, and DeAndre Swift as the primary pass catchers.

    He is instantly the 2nd best wide receiver on this roster.

  27. I was high on him coming out and followed his career the whole time in Philly. He’s a fast dude but he’s a role player at best right now. 

  28. He is awful. Fast but can’t catch. Bad shit always seems to happen when he touches the ball.

    He might make one highlight reel play that makes you believe.

    I hope he doesn’t cause you as much pain as it was to watch him as an eagles fan

  30. Watkins played primarily in the slot. He has some experience outside. But as of right now they have 1 mid WR, 1 ass WR (Watkins), 1 unproven WR, and 1 elite WR.

    While I understand that every signing can’t be some starter caliber player they have an obvious need for a WR2 that can’t be filled unless they either sign one in the draft or trade for one.

    Depending on what they do in the draft this might be the worst WR room in a while as far as overall talent is concerned

    I mean….it’s good depth…but like…our only good WR is Pickens 😭💀

    Watkins is known for being a fast dude with bricks for hands, why the hell do we need him?…moreover what’s our weird obsession with fast WRs?…Austin, Jefferson, Watkins, who will be next?

  36. He does not change any calculations for what this team needs. Doesn’t look like he even plays on ST, despite seeing someone say he could return kicks.

  43. Eagles fan. Quez absolutely sucks. You should pray he gets cut after pre season.

    His speed is his only discernible trait and he can’t utilize it whatsoever. Count on poor routes, offensive PI, giving up on plays. You name it.
