Bob Uecker

I love Bob Uecker and he should be able to do whatever he wants until he’s no longer alive on planet earth. He’s absolutely slipped a little (maybe a lot, depends on when you last tuned in, imo it’s been a gradual thing over like 10-15 years, which makes sense and is a part of life, if you’re lucky enough to be 90 years old), and I wonder if the Brewers are in kind of an unknown area of how to handle it if he slips “more. ” I

really hope the team doesn’t force him to retire, but I also hope if he truly can’t do it, that he can recognize it and find a way to let it go and just be around the team and enjoy baseball as a fan. I find the Brewers whole lack of information about the radio crew this spring training a little unsettling. He’s like the state of Wisconsin’s grandpa.

And then I saw that Jim Powell is suddenly available? I know we have other guys, but it feels right, they can figure it out, etc, etc.

  1. I don’t care if he’s on the air babbling about his nursing home. Bob Ueckers voice is the only thing I tune in for personally. Otherwise I’ll just watch it on tv or get notifications on my phone.
