Attended my first game in years last night.
What stood out to me more than anything was how incredible Hughes’ play is. He moves with remarkable poise and determination. There were many instances where he carried the puck into a high-pressure situation and emerged with it seemingly with ease. Playing like he had a cigarette dangling from his mouth, as Bieksa would say.
This is to contrast with Myers last night, who looked clunky and unsure. He passed the puck to no one on multiple occasions and often chose to smack it out of any pressure rather than try to pass properly or make a play.
A somewhat boring and frustrating game, but my kids had a lot of fun for their first anyways!
Loss feels less bad today knowing it was just bad skate luck. Glad they found some energy in the third to make a come back push but Jesus Christ is LA a boring team to play against.
