This 6th(ish) man, defensive stopper role suits him, as he’s not having to carry too much of the offensive load, and can focus on defence.
If teams are going to give him the looks he wants then he’s there to take advantage of it. We just don’t want to burn him out, as he’s a key player once the playoffs start.
