He’s a solid kicker! He definitely struggles on the 50+ ones, and will miss an occasional extra point for whatever reason. But he’s steady and reliable overall. I’m bummed we didn’t bring him back.

This is Carlson’s competition this year. Let’s see if he can step up.
Hopefully this lights a fire under Carlson’s ass, and if not, we have a new kicker
Hmmmmm… that’s an interesting move. Definitely not the most accurate kicker, but a veteran leg to compete with Carlson.
Ha! Gotcha Minnesota! You take the heart and soul of our team, we take your kicker!

what is the guarantees if he’s cut before season starts? idk the point of rostering 2 kickers, and the extra mill could’ve been spent elsewhere
“The Green Bay Packers are signing my client Greg Joseph who kicked for the Minnesota Vikings the past 3 seasons. Holds the NFL record for game-winners in a season (5), Vikings record for longest FG (61 yds), & led NFL in TB% in ’21. Had other interest but liked this opportunity.” – per Greg Joseph’s agent Brett Tessler
Offseason champs
Let’s just sign Deestroying after the UFL season.
He wasn’t exactly very good himself last year.
NFC North incest back on the menu.
or we could get a good kicker 🤔
Let’s just go for 2 every time pls
I think this was a good decision.
Meh this won’t exactly be a massive improvement but maybe it’ll turn out like the last time a Minnesota kicker went to a team with Rich Bisaccia as special teams coordinator.
Kicker purgatory here we come
We’re never gonna win it all with Vikings on the team!
If only drafting generational kickers was as easy as generational QBs
This the dude who wore the pro genocide cleats last year right? Sick
Only one problem, he sucks too.
Camp leg
Why…
Finding a kicker who isn’t shit should not be this hard. FFS.
Is he any good?
Carlson has to go. Worst kicker ever.
YES. This is the FA news I’ve been waiting for. I’m not joking.
Excellent move considering the vikings awesome field goal history/s
NFC North Incest continues
Hot take: Carlson is absolutely fine. His numbers were better than Crosby’s rookie year.
Kicking isn’t just in the kicker, it requires perfect execution from the snapper/holder, too. I get bringing in competition, but Joseph wasn’t even better than Carlson last year.
Carlson beats him out before the end of training camp and I’ll bet exactly $1 on that
Love this signing Carlson might not be the answer for us this year
Gutekunst is realizing that they fast forwarded through their rebuild and doesn’t want breaking in a young kicker to eff it up.
Lmfao
Didn’t they sign another kicker after the game against SF? So we have 3 now?
Thank god.
We need kickers that have a decent chance of nailing kicks from 50+. Not two kickers that miss from there consistently
I think the real question here is which one is the better tackler?
I’m glad they low-balled Aaron Jones so they could spend that money where it was really needed.
Don’t former Viking kickers do well elsewhere?
All I want is league average kicking success. That’s not an absurd ask.

Hopefully a sign they’re getting rid of Carlson.
Vikings fan here.
