Loving this team. We aren’t better without Trae.

Just look at our last 8 games. 3-5. One to the hornets and one was a 30 point comeback.

Great clippers win!

Awesome team, clearly not better without Trae.

  1. Are you going to ignore the amount of minutes that Wesley brothers, Bruno and Vit are getting?

I’m not trying to infer anything, just asking.

  2. Look how up and down the number of points allowed has been.

I don’t think there’s even an argument for “the defense is better without Trae”.

  3. We are 8-7 since Trae’s injury. Which is decidedly better than we were before his injury. Not sure why you cherry-picked these specific games to post about.

  4. Lol this team is obviously worse but JV I’ve them credit for playing hard despite the injuries

  5. I think it’s equally damning that we’re not better with him either though. The team isn’t very good either way, but he clearly doesn’t raise the team as a whole.

  6. It’s kinda nice to see role players get some minutes and see what they can do. But really they’ve only proved why they’re role players

  7. Trae got hurt in the loss to the Raptors. Since then, here’s the trend…

    ||Before Trae’s injury|After Trae’s injury|
    |:-|:-|:-|
    |Record (win %)|24-32 (42.9%)|8-7 (53.3%)|
    |Points/game|121.3|111.2|
    |Pts allowed/game|126.1|108.8|

Granted, his injury wasn’t the ONLY change. Bey got injured too, we had other guys that missed time both before and after Trae’s injury, you have to consider the quality of our opponents, home vs. road and tough turnarounds, etc. But generally speaking, without Trae, our defense has improved a bit more than our offense has suffered and the record reflects that.

That doesn’t mean we’re really a “better” team without him and I still say there are only a handful of guys in this league that can do what Trae has done at times in the playoffs. But it does raise questions about whether Trae is really the superstar we should be betting the future of the franchise upon.

  8. No team is better without $40M of payroll. The actual question is “are we better spending that $40M elsewhere?” which is a valid question.

  9. Of course we’re not better without Trae. He’s eating up 40 million of our money. We’d be better off paying almost any other max player that money and keeping djm.

  10. Mid with Trae, Mid without him. Arguably more exciting with the young guys but I still love my guy, T. Young.

  11. Too small of a sample size but I’m not an advocate either of trading Trae just yet either
