[Romero] Cuban right-hander Yariel Rodriguez (27) was sent to Triple-A, Buffalo, and won’t be on the Blue Jays’ Opening Day roster. Most logical decision taking care of his health and giving him the chance to properly build up. He is expected to get 2-3 starts at Triple-A.

  1. I know some of us here wanted him in the pen early on, but it’s the most reasonable decision to send him down and let him build up with his shortened spring training. He’s looked great in spring training so far.

  2. This is the correct call. Probably could help out of the bullpen now but he has the look of a starter. He’ll get a chance to next year and most likely also start some games this year if/when injuries crop up

  3. Absolutely the right call considering how much the team wants to at least try him as a starter

Good chance this means Gausman is ok enough to not have to take any IL time?

  4. Will be very interesting to see who gets the opening day start for Buffalo on Friday, does Yariel or it is Ricky? So will be interesting to see who is the first up from the farm, Yariel or Ricky?
