As a Cubs fan i’m glad we got Cody but he is making what fish makes so he better produce. no one wants any of these players at age 39 or 40.
As a Mets fan will be fascinating to see what happens with Pete Alonso. I really want to sign him long-term and boras hasn’t been producing the big contracts
You love to see it. Glad to see teams shifting away from albatross contracts that hinder their ability to be competitive. None of these players are worth north of 100 million, let alone the bullshit they were asking for initially.

I think this would be more informative if it showed AAV.
Montgomery only wanted $150? What a bargain!!
As a Braves fan, hate that Fried is a Boras client. I at least hope he doesn’t sign with the Dodgers next offseason.
As my old man used to say. Wish in one hand and shit in the other, see what fills up first.
Boras secured very player friendly short term contracts tho. They can all be free agents again next year if they want I believe.
So obviously not what he wanted, but it’s still lots of money per year, with the ability to get a new contract the moment they have a good season.
We shall see if it works out for them.
Man for 25m I really wish the Reds would have gone after Montgomery. Just replacing the Votto contract with a one year rental. Even if we fall out of contention I’m sure they could have moved him come the deadline
Scott Boras is literally a cancer to deal with at this point. He damages more clients than he helps at this point. Monty isn’t gonna be ready for a month. Snell is probably a couple weeks away
I worked with the Atlanta Braves throughout the 90s. Scott rep’d several from that era, a few of which I knew quite well. He WAS very effective, very good, and not TOO big of an agency yet in those days. That was his sweet spot! He should’ve retired 10 years ago IMO. And the deals his agency got [weak] for some of the games best this year should be a blaring horn that his game’s over.

Interested to see how snell pitches . If he got 270 or anywhere near there I could see him totally shitting the bed after since sometimes besides last season he was relatively inconsistent with the Padres. I’m rootin for him tho
