  2. Ok, so what I am seeing is the hang on tight, throw your legs up, and drag the opponent down with body weight. Is that what a “hip drop” tackle is? So far it sounds more like the definition of porn. You know it when you see it? How is this going to actually be implemented? How can you call this consistently? Is it rolling up on the back of the ball carriers legs? Where does the defensive players hands have to be? If the defensive player grabs on to the side of the ball carrier but then drop their hips to the side (away from legs) is that still a hip drop? What about a roll tackle? Like the old “hawk tackle”… Why did that go away anyway?

  3. hip drop tackles are noted to be 25x more chance of injuring a player than a normal tackle, by statistics alone it should be banned, much like horse collar tackles
