I am happy for him, but his inclusion in this team serves to show how much more work needs to be done to become a championship contender. There aren’t many teams in the major league that a DH/spare outfielder with a lifetime .220 batting average would be member,much less still be in their organization at 30 years old. But he did play fairly well for theMets last year,s howing some decent power and lifting his average close to.250. So let’s hope he does some good things with what probably is his last chance.
