  1. Imagine being the kind of loser to harass college athletes for your degenerate gambling habits.

  2. This definitely needs to happen.

I personally know a D-1 basketball player who “jokingly” asked me not too long ago if I’d bet on his props and split the cash if he gave me some inside info.

Most of these college athletes are broke or near broke even with NIL. Allowing people to bet on their performance is inevitably gonna lead to disaster.

  3. Don’t get me wrong. I like gambling here and there. I’ve made bets on football games or I go to the casino. But never will I harass or cry when I lose. People need to get a f**ng grip. These dudes losing a 20$ bet and crying about it. Sports would be better without betting tbh. Even the NBA has live betting odds shown on the screen. Just insane

  4. I don’t see how the NCAA has any authority here. People have the freedom to gamble as they wish

  5. Please. These kids are not scoring enough and I’m getting destroyed on prize picks

  6. I enjoy gambling and it’s fun to do a few wagers here and there. But I have no problem with them removing prop bets on College players. A) College kids are way more susceptible to a friend, Booster, etc convincing them to throw something or do something for a prop bet for extra money on the side. Youth can make anyone foolish especially when cash is involved. B) No need for college kids to take extra heat from angry gamblers of any form over prop bets. People already harass college athletes enough as it is win or lose. Pros are atleast paid handsomely enough that they can handle the heat of being a pro athlete. While I don’t agree with harassing Pro Athletes be it for gambling or non gambling reasons. Athletes are entertainers and there’s a degree of feedback positive and negative that comes with the job. But I’m all for this ban.

  7. I hate the amount of gambling ads and odds on tickers, sites, and during game presentations…just ruins the game.

  8. Take away their NIL money then. College kids should not be getting paid, if they are I can make prop bets on them.

  9. It’s wild af that the idea of college athletes being compensated was ever a controversial topic. Everyone else literally made money off them from every available avenue, except for the athletes themselves. So fucked up.

  10. In VA this is the case, plus you can’t bet on any games involving college teams from the state. Pretty fair compromise to limit toxicity towards the player.

  11. Honestly good! Most college athletes don’t play at a higher level than college. We should just let the kids be kids and get degrees while playing hoops

  12. Rigging player props is the quickest way to get caught. The amount of money in these pools is tiny. They exist only for the degen gambler who needs a bet on every game and if it wasn’t available they would go to another sports book.

But as soon as big money goes on some no name player the flags are going to be raised. The bookies can spot a pattern. I was reading more of the Jontay Parker stuff and he got caught because he did it twice, once he blames his eye the other time he said he was ill. I happens once and the bookies will note it but take the hit. It happens twice they are cross checking who is putting the bets on, establishing a pattern and bringing evidence to the league.

Lets be real, college kids are dumb with bad impulse control. They could easily be tempted by small amounts of money to do something that has massive life changing consequences.

  13. You know you’re out of touch with sports betting when you don’t even know what a prop bet is
