[Cabot] How Browns GM Andrew Berry feels about extending Amari Cooper’s contract as he heads into the final year of it

1. Strong indications here that if all goes well, we’ll extend Coop after the draft

2. Cooper is the best WR the Browns have had since 99 and extending him should be a no brainer. Make it happen AB.

3. After watching that sideline grab on 3rd and 7 from PJ Walker against the Niners, I knew we must keep him. That was an insane clutch grab.

4. At least make it a reasonable contract. And nothing outrageous.

5. I feel better about the Jeudy deal if we extend Amari. Means we won’t HAVE to rely on Jeudy taking a step forward

7. I love Cooper. Best Browns receiver in the history of the franchise. That being said I don’t see how they extend him. Cooper isn’t gonna want a paycut and I don’t see him getting paid less than riddley got paid ( for those who don’t know he got paid 4 years 92 million). It wouldn’t he 4 year extension, probably 2 or 3 at the most but no way he accepts less than 20 a year. Add to the fact that he will be 30 soon.

   Ways this gets down and it makes sense would be they either know wills is done after this year, they will move off of teller this year, or they think chubb won’t get extended. Cuz for them to pay him someone has to go.

8. I have said it before but Cooper is like the Nick Chubb of WRs. He’s a true professional and top tier talent.

   He’s getting older so I can’t even guess what the number would look like.
