LeBron on how it feels to play at 39: “Just imagine buying a 2003 Escalade, and it’s 2024, and you never changed the tires.” (via @mindthegamepod / youtu.be/YSjimpC0fk8?si…)

Me driving my 2008 Corolla: 😶
2003 Escalade with a CD player that’s playing Country Grammar on spinner rims.
Is he referring to his feet here?

He buys new feet every year!
Idk bout y’all but wtf does that even mean
To be fair. He spends a $1,000,000 a year retreading those tires.
Nah Bron is a 2003 Camry.
Me with my 2005 Lexus LS
Lakers play better without Bron? Just asking. Feels like the ball moves quicker and Davis grins more. Am I off here?
I think he means a 2003 Hummer
Lebrons a Toyota
LeBron in better shape than all of us, and filthy rich
Not that I have any basis of comparison to lebron, but I kinda get what he means in this analogy. Im 32 now and I definitely have to play more ‘planted.’ Less sharp cuts, big crossovers type of movements that put a ton of strain on joints. All my movements now are fueled by the muscles I’ve added over the years from leg day and workouts. So I’m far more mindful to when and how to push my body to create space and find openings.
If your car tires are wearing thin, you also have to be more careful about your turns, your inertia, and braking. Straight line acceleration is still fine but you’re relying less on the tire traction and more on the rest of the components of the car to stay gripped and not get wrecked
Escalade EXT? I love those
LeScalade
Could be nice slogan for a new car company:
2003 Lebron Built Different
Damn, Lebron must be getting tired of having to come up with new responses to this question.
Yeah but that Escalade has won 4 Indy Car championships
That’s a rubbish analogy
He’s more like a 2003 Lexus LX. Way more reliable and still luxurious.
