  1. You look anywhere but Reddit and twitter and there’s still people calling Giannisthe best, some actually value defense.

Nuggets fans have waited for a bad game from Giannis to shit on him and even then he had 29/21/11 that’s not bad at all, he just had a bad night from the line

  2. Yeah you’re just not going to find reasonable and rational discourse on social media.

It’s designed to drive engagement for only the most ridiculously outrageous takes, so that’s what to it routinely makes it to the top and it’s what everybody sees.

  3. People aren’t annoyed that Jokic is the favorite. It’s that he’s made to be the runaway favorite and no matter what Giannis does the goal posts get shifted.

Last year Embiid locked it up because of his performance against other candidates. This season Giannis is 4-1 averaging 37(!) PPG against other MVP contenders and no one bats an eye. Jokic won as a 6th seed because his team underperformed. Giannis is a 2nd seed despite losing his coach, not having Middleton for nearly half the year, and Lillard massively struggling. Last year you couldn’t get away from the Embiid historic 30 points on efficiency narrative. This year Giannis is going to be the first to average 30+ on 60%+ FG%. Not a peep.

Like how the fuck is the conversation already over? There’s literally no discussion they just gave it to Jokic before the season started because he won the title.

  4. the majority of sports fans are insufferable. look no further than this exact sub. take others opinions with a grain of salt and stop letting stuff like this bother you.

  5. Jokic seems like a really good guy and an excellent basketball player. Most of his fans are so insufferable. I don’t understand this deep hatred they have for Giannis. That’s the difference between Giannis fans as opposed to most of Jokic fans. Giannis fans know how great Giannis is and are confident in their guy’s greatness without having to belittle another guy to uplift Giannis. Giannis fans also spend more time rooting for their guy than shitting on Jokic. The fact that some Jokic fans can’t seem to get Giannis’ name out of their mouths tells me a lot about their insecurities.

At this point I really don’t care about the MVP race because the voters were never going to give it to Giannis this year regardless of how great he is. They decided it’s going to be Nikola Jokic award as soon as Embiid went down with injuries, and nothing was going to change that. They want to make up for not giving it to him last year. Look at the wide gap between Jokic and the rest of the fields in the MVP race all season, there is a reason for that. What Giannis has done this year has been remarkable but they’ve been so disrespectful towards him all season. At this point, I just want the Bucks to win the championship and to hell with the media driven MVP.

  6. I can’t imagine caring about the NBA MVP award. I want to go to the Fiserv in June and watch the Bucks win a Championship.

  7. It’s so stupid that some fans have decided that if you’re a fan of Player A you have to shit on Player B. It’s silly, you can enjoy Giannis and Jokic play at the same time without getting caught up in endless MVP and GOAT discussions. Especially for current players when their last game is 50% of what people consider.

  8. Joker is a great basketball player. I’m not too proud of Giannis to say he might be a better all around player. But if I had to start a basketball team from scratch today, I’m probably taking Giannis with my first pick. Wouldn’t even hesitate.

  9. No disrespect to Jokic, but he won b2b MVP with 27.1/13.8/7.9 despite Nuggets being the 6th seed in the west and the 10th overall best team in 2022

Giannis can’t even got to the 2nd place in the MVP voting despite with 31.1/11.8/5.7 with only 32.1 minutes and the Bucks being the best record team in last season

The media favouritism towards Jokic and hatred towards Giannis are strong

  10. I’m really getting sick of opposing fanbases. The whole mentality of our culture where either you are the best or you are dogshit is so irritating.

  11. Na… you can’t take one idiots opinion and make that the voice of our fan base. I’m a Nuggets fan and love Giannis. Favorite non Nugget in the league. Dude is a beast and seems like a really cool guy off the court as well. Cheers Bucks bros

  12. Meh MVP been a narrative award for a while now. Fuck the voters we need some sort of AI algorithm to work this shit out.

  13. All this talk is cheap. The playoffs will settle this. Let these morons think the Bucks are bad. It’ll make it sweeter when the Bucks knock off their teams.

  14. Swap their teams. Giannis would be a huge upgrade for Nuggets, especially on the defensive end. Jokic is a downgrade for Bucks.

    Giannis is more valuable.

  15. As someone who lives in Denver both attending bucks games and non bucks fans I can confirm this.

They are the most fair weather fans that didn’t give a shit about the nuggets until they won last year. Every game I’ve went to I’ve sat by at least one incredibly rude and loud, even when I was not there watching the bucks. I get rooting for your team but the level of abrupt cockiness and trashiness of it is different from other fan bases ive seen.

4 years ago you could hear crickets in that arena.

They make me want to root for the Celtics if the bucks don’t make it through the playoffs which is saying ALOT…I know Celtics fans are probably worse but I just have to deal with nuggets fans more.

  16. They’re just so smug. These big market teams like LA and Denver think they run this league.

  17. I love this. It’s time the league hone in on the budding Giannis vs Jokic rivalry. Especially if they end up meeting in the Finals this year

  18. Most people don’t know shit about their non favorite option.
Some people just don’t know shit at all…

But the point was, real fans watch most games their team plays depending on their life schedules. Giannis fans see Jokic play a handful or two of times maybe a year.
Same for the other way around. They know how their player plays night in and out, where they have improved, the little things they always do that are not on the box score etc…
What they know about the other player is typically their basic “offensive” statline and the few games they seen.
Even when the major broadcasts talk about a player, they don’t even seem to know the real player, just those few stats.

It’s never gonna be an argument you make the other side understand, most of the time.

  19. Who gives a poop about the NBA .. wake me up if there’s a game 7 in the finals I might watch a couple minutes
