The consolation prize: We pretty much know we’re getting any one of the Evil Trifecta in the first round no matter what. Why worry about it now.
could not care less. happy for them to drop to a wildcard, don’t care who the leafs play whatsoever. It’s how you play, not who you play. They’ve been a better road team in the playoffs under Keefe, and if they’re taking every series to 7 its not gonna matter anyway. Just get your game in order and get into a rhythm.
There’s a 99.9% chance we play one of Boston or Flordia no matter where Tampa and Toronto finish. We’re all but guaranteed 2nd in the Atlantic, 3rd in the Atlantic, or WC1.
There’s a 100% chance 2nd or 3rd plays one of Boston or Flordia, and there’s only a combined 9.7% chance that one of Flordia or Boston finishes 1st in the conference.

I honestly can’t wait to see Willy this year. I feel like if they ever win it with this core, Willy would end up grabbin the Smythe.
This team hates winning at home for some reason this year so less home playoff games the better?🤷

are we tanking to play the rangers? is that still possible?
I don’t care. The prize for beating out the Lightning is playing Boston or Florida in the first round.
Yes. But also a WC spot is basically the same thing. Likely gonna face Florida/Boston but a chance to play a metro team too, which would be kinda cool.
Dropping to WC1 and going into the metro bracket doesn’t seem too bad
I only wish for a second round win. If this happens, I will eat my shorts
If you are gonna win the Cup, there will be great teams to beat on the way. No way around it. If you can’t beat the best teams, its simple, you’re not the best.
playing NYRangers or Hurricanes instead of Florida and Boston.
In the order of the teams I would want to play:
1. Hurricanes 2. NY Rangers 3. Boston 4. Florida
so I’m ok w just coasting and letting Tampa pass us.
Tampa has a better chance of eliminating Florida in the first round…..
In before Tampa goes on a run and we face them in the playoffs.
At this point being a wildcard team might be better than Boston or Florida anyways
