1. I truly hope having Cutch there gives him the grounding he needs

2. If he has a breakout season, get your checkbook out Bob. Add him to the list of “core” players to lock down for 5+ years

3. I still refuse to click on anything that will support the post-gazette. The Block family is a bunch of shitheels. Their workers are still on strike. Support Unions, not the PG.

   Edit – It’s unfortuante, Mackey is a good writer. I’ve seen plenty of his stuff circulated around. I wish he worked somewhere else. I always want to click.

4. It doesn’t matter how good he ends up being, and I expect him to be really fucking good. He’s not going to be an “MLB Star” because he plays for us and isn’t a native English Speaker with crazy Charisma. The rest of the league won’t know who he is unless he leaves, just like Starling Marte.

5. I’m so mad that somebody stole him one pick before I was going to take him in my fantasy baseball draft. Pro tip: don’t name your O’Neil Cruz Control until after your draft because then it signals to everyone that you’re gonna take him 

6. No doubt in my mind he will be the better Cruz this year in the NL Central

7. I think they should have extended him this offseason. It was the perfect opportunity to do so ala Ke’Bryan.
