  14. Seems like Glen Taylor saw the team’s value going from $1.5 to $2.5 billion, and used the late payment as an excuse to keep the team. Can’t really blame him, never in history of any sport such BS ownership transition happened before. Lore and ARod were supposed to finish the payments last year and they failed to do so.

  15. Someone more knowledgeable than me could probably correct me, but if ARod and Lore really couldn’t make the final payment that seems to speak to their inability to be successful majority owners.

    This team’s about to be expensive as hell, and if ARod and Lore literally couldn’t afford to pay the final traunch, that makes me wonder if they’d have been able to actually pay to keep this team together.

  37. I know people dislike Glen Taylor’s ownership history, but feels like a blessing in disguise. Glen Taylor has never shied away from paying for a good team, AROD and Lore just scratching at the bottom of the barrel to find funding to close the deal on the $1.5-$2 billion which is quite a bargain price for NBA teams…feel like ARod and Lore would have been more Red McCombs than Steve Ballmer in terms of ownership appetite to pay second apron payroll.

  40. This is crazy. As much as I want the team to be sold, you can’t blame Glen Taylor for this one, ARod and Lore had 3 years to figure out the money and they couldn’t do it. Honestly, this might be for the best because if they took control, they might have been as cheap as cheap can be.

    Still, I really hope Taylor sells soon. He should get even more now given the team’s success, how the NBA is doing overall, etc. But at the end of the day, this is the Wolves. Even when things are going as well as possible, the franchise is just weird and dysfunctional

  44. Seems like an ARod and Lore problem. If they really had ponied up funds and met the terms of the purchase agreement in place each step of the way, there would have been nothing Taylor could have done to stop the transaction. My initial reaction was that this makes us look like a circus but in reality maybe we have been saved from being purchased by people who operate like a circus.

  45. Taylor blew this up. There is no other viable explanation given it was reported from trusted sources that Lore and Arod did the financial side prior to the deadline. There had to be some void language in that contract.

    This team is all that miserable old fuck has of any real significance or relevancy. He’s been the worst owner in the NBA and will continue to be, Dolan included.

  47. why is everyone so mad? glen taylor aint perfect but he aint red mccombs. I for one am ecstatic that i dont have to try and find the good in A-rod lol. These guys were like venture-capital dorks who wanted to build a whole new city or something, right? Who already are making overtures about a new arena right?

    i feel much more comfy with glen and i dont get why other people dont feel that way. He’s kinda sloppy but sheesh, we just dodged A-rod and some tech carpet-baggers. Glen is one of us at least. Deserves a little more credit

  48. Why are you guys blaming Glenn Taylor? They had an agreement. It’s been no secret Alex and Marc has been struggling coming up with the funds to buy the team. Do you really want the new owners, who can barely afford the sale, to lead this franchise? If you think Glenn’s been cheap, wait till they take over.

    Remember- KATs supermax is about to kick in and where gonna have to extend Ant plus others. We’re gonna hit that 2nd luxury tax, which is insanely expensive. Mayne Alex and Marc aren’t the guys.
