Crazy to think Leonsis was trying to leave a location where we have memories like this. Money talks, but this location means so much to Caps fans. If Leonsis and the city treat it right, I believe that COA (or whatever we call it in the future) can become a venue that people cherish and take pride in, like Fenway or Wrigley. If I have kids I’m glad I’ll get to take them to a game here and tell them about what it was like to watch Ovi light the lamp in the same building.

Arenas don’t last generations. The only NBA arena built before 1990 is MSG. In the NHL, the only other arena older than 1990 is the Saddledome.
