  1. Really depends on what you consider reckless. I don’t see much of what Dan does as reckless, he follows the analytics pretty closely. He’s made mistakes here and there and is for sure aggressive but I wouldn’t call him reckless.

  2. Colin is a professional rage baiter and flip flop artist. The national media has been dissing Dan since he was announced head coach, and they’ll never stop. They may talk nicely about him for a minute but it always goes back to the same ignorant talking points. Mike McDaniels and Sean McVay and Kyle Shanahan are the hip and trendy X’s and O’s coaches. I love Ben Johnson but he gets so much credit for this exact reason when Dan is a massive part of planning and coaching the offense. And actually much of what he does is backed by analytics.

Dan Campbell continues to be revered by football players which are the ones who count. (And Lions fans, of course.)

  3. Ha, most of these clowns didnt pick us to win a playoff game and look where we went. Stay in ya lane

  4. Sean Payton started the 2nd half of the Super Bowl with an onside kick to beat Manning’s Colts.

Colin Coward could never compare to Dan Campbell, Leader of Men.

  5. If it worked, he’d be calling him a genius for playing the modern analytic game. When it fails, he’s a reckless idiot. This is just how the media goes.

  6. Aggressive doesn’t mean reckless

I would say if anything it is calculated aggression

  7. It’s a mentality, we are playing to win.

The only call I thought was reckless, was the run on 3rd and goal at the end of the game against the 49ers. But Dan has already said he messed that up and has learned from it.

Everything else has been calculated risks considering the game state/flow.

  8. Times aggression is what makes champions. He basically just started coaching. There will be times where mistakes are made, but they are getting fewer and further between.

Who watched collin cowherd to see this?

  9. Shows how much they now. Calculated risks aren’t the same as recklessness. Didn’t Sean Payton fake a kickoff in the Super Bowl they won? Reckless if it doesn’t works, calculated if it does.

  10. the first fourth down was a drop.. had reynolds caught that, i think momentum doesn’t flip and we win. i really don’t get how u watch that and call that reckless

  11. “Reckless” took the Lions within 30 mins of a SB.

Imma stick with Dan and Brad.

  12. Dan wasn’t reckless in the NFC championship game. He coached the exact same way what got the team to that point.

  13. These takes are the worst because it’s judging the decision based on the result. Had reynolds caught the 4th down, I think we all agree the game is different. When it comes down to 4th down decisions, you have to be consistent and over the course of the season. You can’t pick and choose when to go for it or not. They have a formula that is correct based on analytics and win expectancy. One thing can be guaranteed, this is not going to change.

  14. Colin cowherd is the actual worst sports media figure. Not only are his takes wrong/bad but they are so suited for casual sport fans.

  15. He already did. His 4th down decisions were still aggressive but much more reasonable last year than in ’21-’22 where he was too aggressive. Not having a kicker who can make from 50+ affects the decision making as well. And lets be honest, if the lion dont drop balls they were in the superbowl last year. The 4th down calls were right, they just dropped the passes.

  16. If vildor, reynolds, Gibbs and a couple other player don’t all have major fuck ups lions win and we are talking about how every other team isn’t aggressive enough and how MCDC is changing the game of football.

I have no issues with how the games were called. Players just did not execute.
