  1. Vlad, George, and *Cavan* all hit homers.

Bo got two hits and took a walk.

    Daulton took a walk.

    Kiermaier reached twice.

Kirk got a big hit with RISP.

Berrios looked absolutely *filthy*. Richards and Pearson were both very effective. Garcia and Green didn’t need to be used today.

The replay review person won a tough challenge(!).

Legitimately as great an Opening Day at the Trop as we could have ever hoped for.

  2. What a fifth straight Opening Day win for the Jays, a great start from Jose and a trio of dingers from George, Cavan and Vladdy, good times all around. A good start, 1 game down, 161 to go ( :

  3. Berrios pitched great for us love the tack on runs for him

Springer and Vladdy, Bichette carried over from spring training to the regular season

Great game for the season opener

  4. The Tampa Bay Rays have tied the 1886 St. Louis Maroons in consecutive wins to start a season…

    With 0.

  5. Did Kirk get a new catchers helmet? I don’t remember the matte silver last year? He looks like god damn R2D2 back there haha

  6. Fantastic game, everyone looked good, pitching was on point, and we beat a tough opponent AT THE TROP! Excited to see what this season has in store for us!

  7. There’s a lot to love about this first game. Homers, clutch hitting, solid pitching. Blue Jays baseball is back!

  8. Missed the game and just got back from work. Could someone fill me in?

    Are we:

    1. Back

    2. So back

    3. So fucking back

    Thanks

  9. Your Toronto Blue Jays absolutely destroy the Tampa Bay Rays on opening day.

    Just as we expected.

  10. what a great game by the whole team. That was a fun one to watch and a great start to the season.

  11. Just like last year, the Tampa Bay Rays suffered their first defeat of the season against the Toronto Blue Jays

  12. Great opening day win by the Jays. I loved the way the offense looked and the guys were really seeing the ball well. A lot of great takes on borderline pitches that were balls.

Berrios was sharp and he looked focused as hell. Even when things got a little dicey he kept it together and got big outs. I also liked seeing Nate Pearson getting an inning of work. If he can just harness his stuff better he’d be so damn nasty.

One game doesn’t a season make but if the Jays can show this kind of effort and pay attention to detail than this will be a helluva year.

  13. If you don’t win the first one, you can’t win them all, the Jays still can ( :, One Down, 161 to go !!!

  14. Georgie opens the scoring on the year, and he opens as the first post-game interview too!

  15. The first step to a 162-0 season is going 1-0 through game 1 GG boys. Vladdy is so back. Too bad he’ll be serving a life sentence for murdering that ball.

  16. I had no idea George had a stutter. A little reading shows he’s embraced it and works with multiple charities, associations and foundation representing children who stutter. Can that guy get any better or nicer?
