He’s a really good player. Getting to 500 goals isn’t out of the question. Just unfortunate circumstances. Granted, $9MM for a guy who’s maybe the third or fourth best forward on a contender doesn’t help.

I remember his 40-goal year but I never would have guessed he’d be at 357 goals already. 6 30-goal seasons and 10 20-goal seasons is really starting to get up there, not many players have careers like that. Guys like Malkin, MacKinnon, Eric Staal, Parise, Kessel, Tavares and Heatley also have 6 30-goal seasons.
