[Thinking Basketball] How the Lakers exposed the Bucks problems

  1. Haven’t watched yet, but it’s gotta be about the defensive deficiencies of Dame/Beasley right? They’re just not sustainable.

  2. Thinking Basketball is so good. Ben Taylor is one of the few national analysts that truly appreciates AD’s defensive greatness. Love listening to him getting excited about “little stuff” like AD stepping up on a screen and forcing Dame into an awkward pass instead of an open 3.

  3. You can see that the Bucks’ offense generated a lot of good looks, but they just weren’t able to convert them. This has been a problem all season long, as the Lakers are allowing teams to get open shots. However, this breakdown also demonstrates that AD is a top-10 talent in the league, even while playing on leg.

  4. Great color commentary, but I didn’t really hear a bullet point list of ways the Lakers “exposed” the Bucks.

  5. At 12:12 why does Ben say that Reaves should have gone for a shorter 3 point shot or a long 2? I get that it’s a higher percentage shot but Giannis was right there to contest, and if you go frame by frame he’s clearly fast enough to get to Reaves if he was much closer. If Reaves was at the elbow Giannis would have gotten there easily, if Reaves was at the three point line Giannis would have jumped and gotten a good contest.

  6. Amazing analysis, my takeaways after watching:

    1. AD is a monster

    2. Reaves is amazing

    3. Bucks got a bunch of good looks but they just bricked them all, we got somewhat lucky
