Fuck the Oilers
You know what? It might be for the best that Vegas is ahead of us now. We can not beat the Oilers reliably, I’m convinced a 3rd series against them will end in 5 games this time, not 6 or 7. We’re going backwards. Then again the prospect of facing Dallas or Colorado is almost even less appealing. So idk, feeling like we’re well fucked no matter what, unless the Canucks can somehow win out in the West.
Moral victory, Arty got the monkey off his back. His reward? Probably getting scratched in favor of 11/7 next game lmao
2-8 against the Oilers in the last 10, not including the two playoff series losses. Obviously a lot of the games have been close (2-goal deficit or less), but the point remains the same. They are not a good matchup for us.
So am I a little relieved we’re out of a divisional spot? Maybe. Just stay above St. Louis now and try our luck with someone else.

Do nothing for half the game and lose every faceoff at the end of the game and we lose, not surprised

Bad game but credit to Cam for keeping us in it and Kaliyev for breaking his goal drought.
**Faceoffs.** why can we not win faceoffs? It is our biggest struggle. When we have the puck we make killer plays and make the opponent dance on their heads. But we can’t win faceoffs which directly affects our ability to make those plays. Kopitar blew how many of those faceoffs in the last few minutes?

Kopi was absolute dogshit in the faceoff circle tonight. Lots to be upset with about the team’s overall performance but man, he’s gotta be better, almost all of the Oil’s great opportunities were off of clean faceoff wins.

* Oilers cheap shot after every play
* Refs mostly turn a blind eye
* On the rare occasion it is too blatant, our PP is awful and gives them momentum.
* On the makeups calls, the Oilers convert on every PP
The bright spot, this loss makes Vancouver look even more sad. Also if Kaliyev gets going now, this game was totally worth it.

We won the final regular season matchup last year so…
Wasn’t all bad, but skinner was really good. Gatta credit him. The Kings were clearly outplayed for most of the game, tho. The Oilers were the meaner, and more physical team as well.
2 goals off lost faceoffs. One after a really bad icing late in the 2nd. Really bad decision to ice that, need to better on the dot…

We’ll overreact to this game because let’s admit it we’re sick of the Oilers and McDavid is too freaking good
But honestly sometimes goalies play well and I fully believe we’ll bring more urgency in the playoffs
I just hope we have something up our sleeve for their PP cuz we just get rocked by McDavid zone entries more so than anyone else on any other team
I think I’d rather play Vancouver in round one, let Edm and Vgs duke it out
