I was perusing r/Texans and came across this mock. Thought it was intriguing to see this take on what trading down could look like for us if the bears also move down from #9. My big if on this take is the Bears trade down. The Keenen signing makes this more of a possibility imo, but I think Denver would have to give up their #76 instead of #121. If it somehow shakes out and we do nab Odunze at #11 is Mims the pick at #23 if he’s available? After our free agency signings I could see us going with McKinstry if available, to add more depth to the secondary.

In this scenario Bears likely trade up for Odunze at 7 or 8.
Why would we trade with the Vikings if we are both in the market for a QB? I would rather stay at that point and get one of the WR if we are not taking a QB. Qdunze won’t be there at 11

I don’t think the giants move off 6 unless someone is mortgaging their franchises future. I also think LAC is unlikely to trade off of 5, they have no receivers rn

The only team above us that I can see moving down is NE. Roster isnt ready for a qb. Cardinals lost hollywood, chargers lost keenan and mike. They both need receivers. If we want Mccarthy I think we get him.
I‘d be more happy with a trade-down that involved us getting a future 1st
1. odzunze not making it to 11
2. even if odunze somehow fell, if he’s available at 10 the jets would take him over bowers
3. denver (or anyone really) wouldn’t waste resources to trade up to 9 to draft nix when they know they could sit where they are and get him)
If you can trade down to 11 and still get Odunze that would be incredible but I don’t think it’s worth the risk. Though that draft capital would be very tempting
Giants moving off 6 to Minn would be very strange. It would show they hate JJ and I think Minn moving up wouldn’t know this and would need to pay more for the qb
