  1. Would be nice if we were able to get Latham at 13 and then trade back into the first for Penix but at this rate I think the QBs are all going to be off the board quick with all the qb needy teams.

  2. People who think the Raiders will be able to trade back into the first round and get him are lost in the sauce.

  3. Trading ourselves back in to the end of the first round is a realistic possibility. Picking at 13, and then for example, 24, we may have a chance to grab him. But after his pro day, who knows, someone could take him top 15, you never know.

  4. Penix at 13 would be a reach, but if they like him, they should grab him anyway. Trading up later into the 1st to grab him sounds great on paper and the internet, but there are so many QB needy teams it’s hard to predict when the right place to trade up will be.

People just say, “Just trade to the late 20s and grab him.” Like okay, but what about LA and Pittsburgh at 19 and 20? Or even Seattle at 16 or New Orleans at 14?

Passing on a QB you like to hopefully get him at a “better value” pick later is a stupid game to play. If they have a 2nd or 3rd round grade on him and don’t really care if they don’t get him, that’s obviously an entirely different story.

  5. If we draft Penix it’ll be such a fucking mistake, he’s gonna tear his ACL for the third time and be out of the league before his rookie contract is up. Or if it’s not his bionic leg it’s the two separate shoulder separations in EACH of his shoulders.

I seriously cannot see how anyone thinks it’s a good idea to use a first on a guy who had 4 season ending injuries in his 6 college seasons.

  6. >On his final throw Thursday, Michael Penix Jr. put a bow on his performance at the University of Washington pro day by unleashing a deep ball that traveled some 75 yards in the air for a completion

Some on this sub have been saying he lacks arm strength, hmm

  7. Seriously, if the guy didn’t play against Michigan, we’d be talking about the need to trade up.

  8. What box was sitting there unchecked? Below 4.5 40yd dash? That box didn’t exist. He’s a passer, not a runner. You can scramble around a little successfully in the NFL while running a 4.7

Pre draft pro day slow news hype calling it an “important” box. In fact, at pro days, no boxes should ever be checked besides the “something horrible we had no clue about” box

  9. If they like him then pick him at 13 and call it a day. They can’t risk losing him after a trade back.
