Sandy could probably still go, give him an inning.
I love how Orel called Sandy βThe Left Hand of Godβ on todayβs broadcast.
2 legendary Dodger pitchers to pitch at least 2,300 strikeouts in their careers.
Sandy still as cool as ever
Is Sandy the last Brooklyn Dodger?
..and Clayton Kershaw.
Sandy was before my time but when you read about what he accomplished it’s just jaw-dropping. No-one will ever replicate a season like he had in his final two seasons. Nobody pitches over 300 innings anymore. 27 complete games in each. Who does that anymore? Plus he was in pain the whole time. This was before Tommy John surgery was invented. But he pitched through it. Nowadays if a pitcher feels any pain at all they shut him down.
