Great article about this from last year here. The Giants are now in sole possession of second place in the all-time record of nonconsecutive LF starters and will likely tie the record next year since this is the last year of Conforto's contract. We'll see if they can break the other Curse of Barry and have someone hit over 30 HR this year.

Highly unlikely Conforto is back next season, so the streak will probably continue.
Alright who do we think starts in LF next year? Matos, Yaz, or a free agent?
I, for one, blame Dave Roberts.
At this point, it has to be on purpose.
It’s not the curse of Barry Bonds, it’s the curse of Dave Roberts.
Next year is Juan Soto in LF.
I, for one, hope this steak never ends. Even if you just have to start someone in LF that barely made the roster and isn’t playing the rest of the game. Let’s go for an unbreakable record!
At this point, the Giants should keep it going just for the lulz.
Why did Hunter Pence only start once? I know he was with the team for a few years, was he hurt or was he playing in right field other years?
Here’s to hoping no Padres hit the ball to left field!!
Kinda hope this stays the opening day tradition even if we have a repeat every day LF
Sign Soto this offseason and we can cross this one off in 2 years
It’s a nice bit of “lul” trivia but I do think there’s a bunch of caveats. During the 2010s, there are some known names on the list that had multiple years with the Giants. Huff, Torres, Torres, Pagan, Pence, etc. I don’t remember the exact circumstances that shifted them to LF but they were hardly a bunch of randos.
Starting from Connor Joe though…yeesh.
This streak is just funny to me and I love it. Happy knowing it will continue next season. Even if Conforto rakes, he won’t be back next season. lol
Which team currently has the longest streak?
There are 762 reasons why it’s not a curse…
I remember thinking Parker was gonna hit 25 homeruns for us lol
I have no recollection of Pedro Feliz playing left field at all.
I had no idea there was a longer streak.
