  1. Wow it’s almost like they know overpaying a 34 year old player on the decline an obscene amount of money is… bad?

  2. if the clippers idiot front office don’t want him, while trapped in a hostage situation with the guy and basically lose him for nothing since they’re mostly over the cap anyway if they don’t sign him, you sure would be dumb as a box of rocks to pay him.

  3. the biggest problem with signing PG (or anyone) to a vet max is that we’ll then have like $10m left to fill out the roster. so embiid, maxey, PG, and then 12 guys that everyone here will be bitching about constantly.

  4. Preparing myself to enjoy the first year of what might become the new ‘worst contract in the NBA’.

He’ll have to get 4 years minimum, taking him through age 37, probably 5 years…ugh…Most players fall way off by 35. We get too used to the freaks like Lebron and think “oh modern training lets them all play till 40” , which is very much false.

MLB GM’s are still stuck in the steroid era of 40 year olds hitting nukes, they wont learn either.

  5. If we’re gonna pursue a guy of his caliber in free agency, I’d rather have him and keep our 5 picks than trade 5 picks for sub all-star guys like Lauri and Mikal. What’s the alternative really?

  6. My guess is Morey wants this rumor out there so that PG and his people know he means business if the Clippers offer anything less than the max.

  7. The first part has nothing to do with whether or not you trust Keith Pompey. The Clippers have not signed Paul George therefore the two parties do not have a deal they both agree on. Either George wants more years, more money, or both. Else he would be signed, just like Kawhi was earlier this year.

The second part is Morey using his mouthpiece to tell George that there is a contender that wants him and is willing to pay him what he wants.

Also, this is neither here nor there, but PG has consistently talked about how difficult it is to stop Joel Embiid and always gives him credit.

  8. Almost can’t say no to PG if he’s willing to come here, but I wonder if there’s a couple guys similar to what Denver did with KCP/Gordon who could be elite role players for us at a similar price point.

  9. Nah I do believe there’s actual interest despite Keith Pompey being a troll at times

  10. I feel like we’re gonna give him a max deal for way too long of a period at his age, and he’s not gonna perform up to par at all, hence Philly fans being mad at the contract and it’s a Tobias situation all over again.

  11. He’d be older than Harden when we got him and is more injury prone, what the hell are we even doing here?

  12. Why on earth would we sign an almost 34-year-old injury-riddled Paul George? What am I missing here?

  13. I love PG’s style of play but I don’t think the Sixers should commit to a long-term contract max.
