Can’t say I missed extra innings games
Idk about you guys but I love ump ball
It’s ok 160-2 is still on the menu
Damn I was so excited for shotime lol. Oh well onto next one
Dave managing the team on auto sim just gonna let pitchers start fires and let it get out of control before he does anything with Kelly tonight and Grove yesterday.
crazy how hurt got the L and not kelly
At least this team has fight
Can’t win em all.
i’ve always hated the ghost runner rule, not just because of tonight.
cheap way to win, cheap way to lose
Why are people surprised that Ohtani swings 110% every time, have you watched him the past 6 years lmao
I’m sleeping in my Mookie Betts jersey tonight, dudes playing at such a high level rn
Exciting and disappointing. Baseball is back
Ippei and Joe Kelly conspired for this loss.
Allowing Joe Kelly to face 9 batters was absolutely criminal
Welp, let’s atleast be proud of our boy Yamamoto
At least mookie looks. Amazing
[My face when we can’t lose anymore games to reach 160 wins](https://imgur.com/a/yzlldvV)
Great game. One bad inning by one pitcher. A lot of positives though. Shohei will heat up at some point here. Let’s get the W tomorrow.
I feel like Ohtani is really trying his hardest to get his first regular season homer out of the way, but he doesn’t need to be trying to murder the ball every at bat, can’t win em all
Lots of guys left on with Lynn pitching.
Disaster inning for Kelly.
Leaving bases loaded in the 10th.
Ahh well, that’s baseball, Suzyn. I aint gonna trip on it. Be mad and blame Doc for the Kelly outing if it makes you feel better. As somebody that’s given Doc a bunch of shit over his tenure (some deserved, some probably not deserved), I aint gonna be mad about tonight. It’s a cold night in April, and there’s 157 games left. He aint gonna try to warm somebody up quick on a cold night because Joe Kelly doesn’t have it in the 5th game of the year. It sucks but they’re looking out for the long haul, not just one game at the start of the year.
Brand new day tomorrow. Lets take the series tomorrow night
Idc, I’d still take Ohtani 100 out of 100 times in that situation
Exciting rally but first inning LOB and Kelly’s meltdown doomed us. Yoshi looked great, which is awesome.
Our two loses have been hair pulling frustrating. Our wins have been fairly easy. We will be ok
Shoey is pressing. Excited for you guys once he starts getting going.
We lost, and that sucks, but fuck this is a fun team. Every time the lineup turns over it’s thrilling. And the bottom of our lineup isn’t even bad!
Joe Kelly lost it. Sure, catcher interference and shit defense from Muncy but that doesn’t excuse Kelly’s lack of control that contributed to a hit by pitch. He should be given the loss and not Hurt.
Not the best seaosn start for Ohtani.
I know his .666 OPS won’t last any more than Mookies 2.000 OPS will, but want to see more.
Yamamoto looked fucking great,
Don’t play Joe unless we have a BIG enough lead please,
Shohei still hasn’t settled in yet unfortunately, whiffed big AB’s along with the offense against Lynn but we still have a long season to look forward too!
Yamamoto got robbed on this one.
Stayed up til 1am to see this. Absolutely worth it.
ITT: People who haven’t watched Shohei Ohtani play baseball before
2 bases loaded situations with 0 runs; you gotta be fucking kidding me
Should have been able to bring more runners in but still no excuse for giving up 5 fucking runs in one inning. Dave and Joe robbed Yoshi of a W
Despite the L, this was a good game with lots of uncertainty addressed:
– Is Yamamoto able to live up to the hype? Yes and YES
– Can Max still deliver under high pressure? Yes
– Is Hurt reliable and is he worthy to be in the BP? Yes
Shohei has known to hit funks, he might just be in one right now and will get out of it. Playing baseball in Dodgers uniform, his lifelong dream, might also be getting to him not to mention the Ippei drama. He’ll find it though.
And again
#YOSHINOBU YAMAMOTO
I’m most pissed the Lynn got out of that game without allowing a single fucking run, let alone a homerun. It’s seemed like a guarantee every time he went out there for us
Flip Ohtani and Freeman in the batting order.
1st lost stateside
But this team looks awesome. Seems like we put a threat every inning. I can see opposing teams being stressed pitching against us. There is absolutely no breaks.
Yamamoto looked awesome today.
Just one bad relief pitcher blew up to give away the game. It’s ok things happen. The Astros supposed “best bullpen” in baseball blew 3 straight games to the Yankees.
How much more money does Friedman have to throw to try and get even more talent before he finally sees the light and realizes that Dave Roberts is not the guy to lead the Dodgers back to a WS? He saw Joe Kelly walk a guy, bean a guy and then after Will Smith committed catcher’s interference trusted him to try and pitch his way out of a jam and didn’t pull him until 5 runs were given up. The only thing that didn’t make it worse was at least Max Muncy made up for his error in the clutch.
I can’t care less if the FO has a plan Roberts has to execute that he isn’t allowed to deviate from for some reason or he’s just this bad at reading the game situation, but this is the #1 thing that’s needed sorting for years now and something’s gotta give or it’s another lost season.
