So Tobin when asked if Volson is any good says he thinks Volson is a good run blocker. Kind of sounds like a backhanded comment.
Anyway, OBJ had cover for him all year which brought down his performance rating. This “Someday he’ll be good!” doesn’t help when you QB keeps getting sacked and hit, and missed the end of 2 of 4 seasons.
He should be a really good back up here and they should be looking to upgrade in the draft.
Anyone know why Brock Purdy is so low on this list? Obviously, on field impact he should be No. 1.
I like the dude, he is a below average NFL guard. He is a backup. It speaks more to the failure of Jackson Carman versus the failure of Volson that he has played nearly every snap since being drafted. Hopefully we draft an OT at 18 and he is made to compete for RT and LG and they beat out Volson. Also draft Tanor Bortolini at Center in the 4th round and I think we have the line in a good spot. I say him because it would be nice to see an athlete on the line

This is the year to see what Volson can be in the NFL. Considering he was a small school prospect, it made sense that he wouldn’t be great right out of the gate.
I’m excited to see Volson improve his game this season!
