J.D.Martinez didn’t do his HW and actually went to play in a worse hitters park for far less.

So I was watching the Tigers (hubs is a fan) and I was flabbergasted when the Tigers put up a stat about the least amount of runs scored on average in a ballpark. Lo and behold Citi Field is top of the list and Oracle is #5! I immediately laughed thinking back to why JD said he signed for less $.

So I did a little digging using mlbs stats to measure how ballparks play just to check and consistently Citi is worse then Oracle. Haha, FU JD and hope you enjoy the 10 mil you did not make with us and take your bad attitude with you. Puti.

  1. Yes, Oracle Park isn’t quite as pitcher-friendly as is widely believed. With that said, what did JD Martinez do that hurt you so bad?

  2. I believe he said he likes to go oppo which would probably be more difficult at Oracle. Nevertheless he’s a coward for not taking the challenge

  3. >You might think that Citi Field would follow suit, that the 34 homers he actually hit would have come out to something like the 24 that Oracle would have yielded. But it’s quite the opposite, surprisingly – if Martinez had played every game in Queens, he would have hit 39 homers, which would have been the fifth-*most* of any park for him.

    >It’s like that almost every year, too. Martinez has six seasons since this kind of tracking became available in 2016 where he’s hit at least 20 home runs (including postseason), and every year, he’d have done better in New York than San Francisco.

  4. Yes the run environment at Oracle is slightly better than CITI in general, but CITI favors him specifically much more and the numbers aren’t close.

  5. Good, I wanted nothing to do with another dodger reject. I’m so much happier with Soler!

  6. total runs scored shouldnt be the stat he is paying attention too, its easier to go deep in NY than it is in SF, and his future contracts will be dependent on how many homers he hits. if you pull up the stats, he would hit more homers in NY than SF by a big margin, so he;s not exactly wrong about Citi being a better hitting environment than Oracle. “Park Factor” is too general a stat, you need to cater more to the type of hitter he is.

  7. How many homeruns you’ve seen at rightcenter from a righty? I swear I’ve only seen 1 since 2008. Justin upton thats it.
