  1. Jesus Zach Edey at 13?? That might actually make me have a killdozer moment down at One Center Court

  2. If we went through this tank to get Topic (who I think will have a lot of trouble doing anything besides passing in NBA) and Edey, I will be livid.

  3. re: tankathon, salaun, sure, whatever. but if it’s an issue of clingan not being there when we take salaun, i am comfortable with taking him at 5 if need be. he is absurdly impactful on defense and i think is much more compatible with scoot’s game than ayton is. clingan is a complete floor raiser in my opinion, been high on him for months

  4. Not that he’d fit in the team, but Castle strikes me because he moves the same way Shae does in the halfcourt. Long strides, layup package, etc.

He obviously lacks Shae’s athleticism, but it was something I noticed when looking into him

  5. I’d kill myself fr. We already know edey was awesome in college. Why tf is he all of a sudden shooting up draft boards? He’s Luka Garza 2.0

  6. No way we take another guard, if we actually stay at five I’m not sure what Cronin does tbh

  7. Who knows what this team even looks like next year, it’s best player available for the foreseeable future. All I know is we are not taking Edey at 13. We need upside.

  8. I think these are lore big boards than mocks. There is no point predicting picks yet as the draft order is up in the air

  9. Lol no one knows anything about this draft is all these boards tell you.

Draft day is going to be wild, can’t wait!

  10. What are the odds we could trade our 2 picks this year for one good pick next season? This draft looks so gawd awful I just don’t see the point! I have always been a believer that a good FO can always find talent in the draft – but this year is making me question that assumption.

  11. We need a young pg/sg so we can replace Brogdon. Or does our management thinks they have already quality replacement with Dalano Banton?

  12. With any of these mock, the first consideration is does X player make sense for POR, in comparison to who is theoretically left on the board.

Since the ESPN mock is behind a paywall, here’s The Ringer’s latest, and I’ll throw CBS in here just for a third:

Dillingham, and Topic don’t make sense from a skill-set/position perspective. Topic’s size is intriguing, but POR doesn’t have the size throughout the roster to really take advantage of that, so POR couldn’t maximize Topic the way SAS could for example. Dillingham is the same size and age Ant was coming in, and Scoot probably already has a few pounds on Ant. So, both of POR’s “small” ball handlers already have size over Dillingham, so he would just exacerbate the positional size concerns, at a position POR is overloaded at.

With Holland… I believe Barlowe and Richman both said on a X-over episode that they have doubts that he’s going to measure 6’8″ at the combine (multiple other folks in the business have said essentially the same thing). If Holland and Walter are the same size as Shae, and Shae gets thrown into the “guard” mix because of his size – Then Holland and Walter are guards as well. Which further exacerbates the lack of size throughout the roster, and the over abundance of players at the same position.

  13. I want a wing and a forward.
Like Cody Williams and Matas. There’s a lot of 6’8, 6’9 guys in our range. Not many of those can shoot unfortunately.
