  2. So he’s the best goalie in the league is what I’m getting

    Samuel MonTRÈSbeault

  3. I feel like this is as much a factor of him being underestimated, as him “over” performing.

A true Hab moment! Living up to the underdog status! 😁❤

  4. Monty is clutch, that’s all I know.

On another note, these imgur links are absolutely awful to use on mobile.

  5. I love what we’ve seen from Montembeault lately, but I can’t shake the thought that our rebuild would be a lot further along than it is had he not been playing out of his mind the last couple years.

You can get really good goalies like him off waivers, hell that’s where we got Montembeault in the first place, and Primeau’s come alive as of late finally showing off the potential he demonstrated in college. 8 less wins this season would put us second last to only San Jose, and I don’t doubt the tale would be all that different last year either.

Montembeault has been really solid for us these last few years and I don’t want to sound unappreciative of having a good goalie after Price – something I know we all feared deep down through Carey’s career – but if Montembeault was the difference between us drafting Bedard or Celebrini, vs Reinbacher or Iginla, I’d have a really hard time appreciating him.

You want your goalie stealing games when you’re in the hunt for a cup, you don’t want him stealing games when you’re trying to rebuild.
