  1. I was digging through old magazines, cards and stuff and saw this prelude to a heatbreak in my stash. That year ended in our second in a row NFC championship game loss to Dallas. It wasn’t entirely undeserved, like the 1992 one, because Seifert didn’t do much to help protect his Hall of fame starting QB. Our tackles and guards were no match for teams with mammoth defensive fronts and Dallas had the best one in the NFL.

On the left side of this cover there’s a mention of the Seahawks and their promising QB. It was Rick Mirer and although he had a good rookie year he nosedived the next two seasons much like Mac Jones. Seattle was in the AFC West then so we weren’t paying them any mind.

I cannot wait for the draft. If I had the money I’d fly a banner over 49ers HQ that said: “Draft O-Line FFS!”. I wish I could spell it out but they charge by the letter from what I heard.
