  1. I know not everyone has a subscription to The Athletic, but this is a great article that uses some advanced stats to examine the top shutdown defensemen in the league. I was hoping to see Vlasic somewhere on the list, but was very pleasantly surprised to find him all the way up at #2. To come into the league and immediately be so effective at such a difficult position is pretty remarkable. The future is definitely bright!

  2. “Chicago has a near break-even goal differential during Vlasic’s minutes but has a whopping minus-73 goal differential when he’s on the bench at five-on-five.”

Holy crap, I knew that Vlasic had a big impact, but that’s an absurd stat.

  3. Lmao didn’t make the best 8 young defenseman but is ranked 2 for all shut down defenseman. Make it make sense athletic.

  4. Sign for 8xwhatever. Young defensive studs are a need for the future. Let’s lock one down.

  5. Said this earlier in the season on this sub…. Vlasic was then and is now our best defenseman. Period.
